My family and I came to you looking for help. A good Catholic, but a little doubtful, I went along with my family's wishes and visited your church not knowing what to expect. I must say that over the next 5 years, a miracle has unfolded before my eyes. I was lucky enough to attend your healing mass at my original diagnosis. Even experiencing this Mass, I didn't know what think of the experience. However, you assured me you would pray for me. As well, I was grateful to have family praying for me. After my surgery, my cancer was re-diagnosed as a stage 1, with little explanation by my doctors. Even with a reduced diagnosis, I was strongly urged to undergo chemotherapy and take a prescription of Tamoxifen. However, I felt very strongly this would be harmful and selected NOT to undergo any further medical treatment, other than scheduled testing. My doctors were furious with me, and told me I had selected a virtual death sentence. The next 4 1/2 years has been a very long spiritual journey. I cannot express how many times I have failed along the way of this journey. I also must impress upon you that my prayers for myself are so weak at times, I know that God did not answer my prayers alone. It was by both the mercy of God and the prayers of others, especially those of Fr. Jose, that I am here today. And, I am proud to say that today, June 25th, 2010, I received my final test results from my oncologist. Here I remained, the woman whom did nothing recommended by her doctors; but by the grace of Jesus, is not only cancer free--but in perfect health! It's a miracle! My wife Daivi’s heart was impacted with rheumatic fever she had when she was a child. She is now 49 years. We live in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania she was advised by doctors for surgery when she was 29 and 39. but always with our prayers the conditions were changed and she id not go for surgery. We knew someday she has to get the heart valves corrected. This year, our cardiologist suggested that her symptoms are serious and she may need an open heart surgery based on the results from some of her tests and statistics of her sickness. If the rheumatic heart patient is without valve correction for a long time, there is a tendency that calcium can deposit on the valve and if that exist it has to be a open heart surgery and valves needed to be replaced. Even though we knew it is coming we were devastated. One of my friends sent information about Rev. Fr. Jose and I left a voice mail for Fr. Jose 11/06/09. He called me back and after explaining the situation, Rev. Fr. Jose said he will pray for my wife on First Friday service and advised me to continue our prayers. My wife did the final test, heart catheterization to check whether she has calcium, and to determine what type of a surgery needed. My cardiologist, who is a Hindu was surprised to note that there were no calcium deposits in her heart valves and he thinks she does not need to have a open heart surgery but with minimum invasive procedure her valves can be corrected. I have been a health buff for such a long time so the affliction must have been God's way of telling me that He is in command of my life. I had the operation on April 21,2008. Baby Samuel was born on Dec 29th of 2008, the spina bifida was about 5 by 5 cm side on his lower back, however it was closed and the spinal nerves were not exposed, this was good news . He went into Surgery on Jan 2nd 2009 and was operated by a neuro surgeon. Samuel joined us home on Jan 6th 2009 after a miraculous recovery. Thank you Lord for listening to my prayers! December 2008 Name: Lynn C. Prayer Answered: In November 2006 I learned of Father Jose Eucharistic Healing Ministry and his Generational Healing Mass. I was a cradle Catholic, but did not practice my faith. By the time I was 33 years old, after having been divorced and remarried outside the Church, I felt called back. I had a "conversion" and gave my heart to the Lord. My husband decided to convert to Catholicism, we attended a RCIA program, and had our marriage blessed in the church. We raised our son with a living faith and prayed together each morning. I was introduced to the charismatic renewal and learned the importance of the third person of our Triune God, the Holy Spirit. Bert and I had a wonderful, loving marriage. Our dream was to get our son in college, sell our house and cruise the world. We did that, but after being aboard for only seven months Bert died of a massive heart attack. My life and dreams were shattered and I was very angry with God. I kicked, screamed and shook my fists at Him like a child having a temper tantrum and when I was done He held out his arms and held me. It is normal to be angry about our circumstances, but it is only when we submit to His Divine Will that healing can begin. About a year after Bert had gone home to the Lord, I thought of a man who had been my best friend in high school. We had dated for a short while but parted as friends when I went to college. We stayed in touch for ten years then lost touch for twenty years. Thirty years ago, I was a minimally practicing Catholic and he was a non-believer. He now was divorced and a Christian. He converted to Catholicism and we were married three years ago last February. I never imagined that through God's love I would be so blessed. I know that until I finally realized that "Not my will, but Thy will be done", could I have received these blessings. In February 2006 I began to have pain in my legs, elbows, shoulders, my knees began to swell and I became very weak. I went to an internist, orthopedist and rheumatologist and after multiple tests still had no diagnosis. I continued to pray to the Lord that I be healed or that He would lead me to health professionals that could help me. After six months I went for acupuncture weekly and some of my pain was relieved but I could only walk short distances and could not sit for very long. When my husband Dana read about Father Jose's Eucharistic Healing Ministry he said "Let's go". That night we sat in the back row of the church. Father Jose began to pray and bless the people and some people "were slain in the spirit". I was afraid to go up to the altar to be blessed because I was afraid that if I was "slain in the Spirit" I would not be able to get up off the floor. It was the devil placing doubt in my heart to keep me from receiving the grace, blessings, love and miracle God had waiting for me. I told Dana of my fear and we prayed together. I came forward and stood next to the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I was "slain in the spirit" and was not able to get up but the Lord sent someone to help me get up. The next morning I was partially healed and my pain had been reduced by fifty percent. The Lord then led me to therapists who helped relieve my pain and to a rheumatologist, where I was given a diagnosis and medication which helped me. I believe in God's time I will be healed completely. Believe in God and you can be healed in body, mind, soul and spirit. I went through radiation treatments every morning for seven weeks and every Friday received chemotherapy treatments. My name was on the prayer line at St. Monica's Church and I had (have) a great devotion to St. Padre Pio, St. Rita, St. Andrew and our Blessed Mother Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The treatments ended on JANUARY 10, 2008. During this time I heard Father Jose Maniyangat was conducting a Eucharistic Healing Mass at St. Monica's Church. I attended the Mass with my wife Joyce and after Mass we were blessed by Father Jose and I told him of my lung condition. Father took a relic and touched my chest. He is six months old. He is our grace. Praise God! I am 41 years old. Although I was baptized in the Catholic faith, received first communion and was confirmed, my parents were not devout Catholics. My religious education growing up was minimal. Since I learned to drive at the age of 16, I have attended Church more regularly but it didn’t become the central focus of my life. Diana: I am a 42-year-old who was raised unchurched, but in recent years came to know and love the Lord through the Protestant faith. As an overachieving intellectual with degrees from Harvard University and Emerson College, I have been slow to acknowledge and submit to the will of our Creator. Four years ago Don and I married, but out of stubborn ignorance and firmly held misperceptions about the Catholic faith, I resisted conversion. Don didn’t push the issue. We were married in a non-denominational chapel and attended a non-denominational, evangelical church over the first two years of our marriage. In essence, I pulled Don away from the Catholic Church. While happily married, we were saddened by our inability to conceive children. We spent upwards of $30,000 relying on science to boost my fertility – even going as far as trying in vitro fertilization twice – but to no avail. We rationalized using IVF by telling ourselves we were merely enhancing our chances to conceive, but God still had the final say. Deep down, however, we knew it was wrong. We were trying to circumvent God’s will. Still, we prayed for success. God didn’t answer our prayers. Fertility experts concluded I was simply too old, my eggs could not fertilize properly. We were encouraged to consider using donor eggs, which we immediately rejected. Next it was suggested that we pursue adoption. Wanting dearly to experience pregnancy and the birth of our own child, we held out hope that the doctors were wrong and God would eventually bless us. We gave up on science and put our faith back in the Lord. Upon the urging of Nancy, with whom I became friends through my writing of a book about Terri Schiavo, we began attending Fr. Jose Maniyangat’s monthly healing Mass in December 2005. As a non-Catholic I found the liturgy intimidating and confusing, but I was immediately struck by the beauty and solemnity of the Mass and felt the power of the Holy Spirit abiding with us all inside this church. I experienced being slain by the Spirit upon receiving the blessing of Fr. Jose. The state of grace I reveled in long after the Mass had ended put the finishing touches on a truly transformative experience. In October 2003 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I had a hysterectomy, and underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy. My cancer went into remission and I was cancer free. In August 2006 I was diagnosed with cancer in my lymph nodes and was told my prognosis was very poor. I told my doctor “God created me and He will recreate me again. I leave everything to God.” I have always been a devout catholic and placed my trust in God. My family and friends began to pray for me immediately. I began chemotherapy in September 2006 and concluded in April 2007. The treatment was three days a week for three weeks then one week off. The treatment on Monday was for six hours, Tuesday was one hour, and Wednesday for one hour. The treatments left me feeling very tired and drained. A friend of mine during this time told me about Father Jose Maniyangat and the Healing Mass in Macclenny, Florida. I started attending the Healing Mass in October 2006 and have not stopped. I would place my petition in the prayer box at each mass which was brought up to the altar during the Healing Mass. After one Healing Mass I met Father Jose and told him about my condition and asked him to pray for my healing. My mom was unhappy with this decision because this home was one and a half hours away from our family home. This would make it difficult to visit and care for him. I started attending this church when my wife and I moved to Macclenny almost two years ago. I grew up here in Macclenny, where most everyone is Protestant. I was a Protestant myself. I was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macclenny and had been going there since I was five years old. My wife and I would attend the healing masses and I never thought I needed healing. I felt perfectly fine, but during the healing mass in June 2006, I guess God didn’t think that I was fine. When I went to the front, I was touched by Father Jose and began to slay in the spirit. I couldn’t open my eyes and I just lied there in peace. I knew something was happening but it wasn’t until later that I realized what it was. I was always asking my wife questions about the Catholic Church, because as a Protestant we never believed in things like purgatory or the confession of sins to a priest. Later, after being in the class for a few weeks, I started talking with my wife and told her that I really didn’t want my children to grow up and ask us why we have different beliefs. I told her that maybe it was a good idea that I converted to Catholicism. Remember, when I told you about slaying in the Spirit and not knowing what had happened to me. Now I realized what it was for. You know about St. Paul and his conversion on the way to Damascus. Well, I didn’t get blinded by a bright light, but God did clear my sight and allowed me to see the truth. I started understanding things and they were crystal clear to me. I knew at that time that I wanted to convert and that it was the right thing to do. I just became a Catholic during the Easter Vigil. The night before, as my wife and I were lying in bed, she told me that she was proud of me for converting and that many people had been praying for me. She told me that she had gone to Father over a year ago and told him that I was not a Catholic and that she was afraid that there would be problems in our home because of this. He told her not to worry and that he would pray for my conversion. I truly believe in the power of prayer and the gift of healing that Father Jose has been given by God. When I was about sixteen weeks pregnant, I was given the multiple marker test, which identifies a fetus at risk for certain birth defects. When the test results came in, the doctor told me that one of the tests came back positive, the one that tests for Down syndrome. I was told that at my age, the odds of having a child with Down syndrome were high. I was told that I could meet with a counselor who would help me understand more about Down syndrome and help with decisions about what to do next. The doctor then told me that I could undergo another test called amniocentesis, which would definitely prove whether or not the baby had Down syndrome. However, there was a small risk of miscarriage involved with the test. At my surprise, he then told me that if we wanted to, he could abort the pregnancy and he started talking about it as if it were no big deal. This was not even an option for me and no matter what was wrong with the baby, I would never consider this. When I got home from the doctor’s office I spoke with my husband about it and we decided that we would ask the advice of Father Jose. When I spoke with Father, he told me not to worry and that he would pray for the baby. He told me to make sure that I went to the healing mass, which was the next day. This is where the miracle happened. When I went to the front for healing, Father Jose touched my stomach and I could feel the Holy Spirit enter my womb. Words can’t describe the feeling that I felt, but I knew that something special happened. The following week, my husband and I met with the counselor and a specialist from the regional obstetrics at Baptist Hospital. As Father Jose had suggested, I didn’t have the amniocentesis test. We only wanted to get a detailed ultrasound and a second opinion from the specialist. During the ultrasound, the specialist began looking at the baby and told us that he didn’t see any signs that would indicate Down syndrome. On November 9, 2006, I gave birth to our daughter, Anna Marie. Anna is five months old now and smiles all of the time. She is the happiest baby that I have ever seen. The doctor told me to come back the following week but again there was a problem and the doctor sent me home and told me to come back the following week. I went for the surgery three times but each time the doctor would give me an excuse regarding its postponement. The third time the nurses had gotten me ready for surgery and I was about to be taken to the operating room when the doctor walked in and told me that the operating room was contaminated and I could not be operated on. I told my daughter what had happened and she told Father Jose. Father Jose told my daughter to tell me that I would not need surgery anymore but I did not believe this at the time. My mind was set on having the surgery as soon as possible. I even asked another doctor if he could perform the surgery on me. The doctor declined and sent me back to my doctor. The following week my doctor scheduled the surgery again. The night before the surgery, my daughter called me and told me Father Jose had been praying for me and said I would not need the scheduled surgery. I told her I am scheduled for surgery and I will have the operation tomorrow. My daughter listened to me but reminded me again about the prayers Father Jose had been offering for me. The next day I was taken to the hospital for the surgery. New X-rays were taken before surgery and to my astonishment, and the doctor who knew about the prayers that had been being offered by Father Jose said: “Lady, I have good news you do not need a surgery and indeed the Lord has performed a miracle on you. Glory be to God! The doctor said I would need to have a cast for one month and after that I would be fine. The doctor said God had performed a miracle on me because the new X-rays showed the knee was healing and I would not need surgery. I was very excited about my healing. My husband, other family members, and friends who knew about my condition were astonished! Now I truly believe in the power of prayer. Since then, Jesus has truly changed my life. I pray daily prayers of thanksgiving and pray for others who are ill that they may be healed. I am able to be here in Macclenny and give my testimony today because I was healed and am able to walk.
