From the Homily
Of Father
Jose
“The Good Shepherd”
|
|
One of the
oldest paintings of Christ in the Roman catacombs represents Christ
carrying the injured straying sheep, gently on his shoulders, back
to the sheepfold. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is sincerely interested
in the true welfare of his flock.
We must listen
only to His voice. Sometimes we wander from the right path, and we
think we can live without Him. But even if we are far away from
Him, Jesus can lead us to the right place, the eternal heaven.
When we are
away from Jesus, the bad shepherds come into the scene. Satan sends
many false shepherds. Look at the number of denominations around.
All their founders are false shepherds. This happened because they
did not listen to Christ, the Good Shepherd.
They heard
different voices, and failed to follow the real voice. They
followed the false shepherds. Jesus said that many false shepherds
would come in His name. Don’t follow them! They are hired
shepherds who seek their comforts only. They do not care for the
sheep. Only the good shepherds lay down their lives for the sheep.
When we follow
the good shepherds, we face many difficulties, even persecutions.
But we know that this is the only way to reach the eternal kingdom.
If we take our stand with God, we are ridiculed and rejected. So
many people today are following the voice of what is acceptable in
our culture, which is the culture of death. Let us follow the
culture of life, the voice of the Good Shepherd!

News From Father Jose |

Life is Short
Pray Hard
We are to
prepare our life every day because we don’t know the day or the hour
of our death. Our souls need to be in the state of grace so when we
appear before the Lord we can have a right judgment and have eternal
life.
I had an
motorcycle accident on April 14, 1985 which resulted in my death.
But God sent me back to continue His mission of healing. My message
to you is “Be ready to meet our Creator at any time.”
Healing Mass Saturday, May 3rd
The next
healing Mass will be Saturday, May 3rd at 5:00 p.m. Those who
want to experience the power of the Holy Spirit and receive
healing of mind, body, and soul are welcome to attend this
Eucharistic Healing Ministry. There will be a May Crowning of Our
Mother Mary and a Eucharistic and Marian Procession during the Holy
Hour.
World
Day of Prayer for Vocations
The Holy
Father has designated April 13th as the 45th World Day of Prayer for
Vocations. Please pray for vocations to our diocese, that those who
feel a call to and desire for the priesthood or religious life may
find the courage to say "yes" to what God asks of them.

Welcome Our Pope
Let us welcome
our Pope Benedict the XVI. It is his first Apostolic visit. Let us
pray for his health and protection. Let the Holy Spirit guide his
journey and his talks.
Father Jose was
selected from our Diocese to co-celebrate the first mass in
Washington, DC with our Pope. Please pray for his safe journey.
Prayer for the
Pope
Lord, source of
eternal life and truth, give to Your Shepherd Benedict XVI a spirit
of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love.
By governing
with fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he, as successor to
the Apostle Peter and Vicar of Christ, build Your Church into a
sacrament of unity, love, and peace for all the world.
We ask this
through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with
You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever.
Amen
